Towards Inclusive and Circular Aquaculture: From pilot sites to policy impact
📍 Sète, France
📅 05 May 2026
The Final AZA4ICE Event “Towards Inclusive and Circular Aquaculture: From pilot sites to policy impact” marks a key milestone in the implementation of the Interreg Euro-MED project “AZA4ICE – Allocated Zones for Circular Aquaculture to trigger the transition to an Inclusive and Circular Economy.” Bringing together project partners, policymakers, researchers and stakeholders from across the Mediterranean, the event will showcase the project’s main achievements and foster dialogue on the future of sustainable aquaculture.
Over the past two and a half years, AZA4ICE has promoted an innovative approach to circular aquaculture, combining spatial planning, stakeholder engagement and transnational cooperation to address environmental, economic and social challenges in the sector. By testing the C-AZA methodology across eight pilot sites and developing concrete Action Plans, the project contributes to a more resource-efficient, inclusive and resilient aquaculture system.
This final event will provide a platform to present results, exchange experiences and discuss policy perspectives, while strengthening collaboration among key actors committed to advancing a sustainable blue economy in the Mediterranean region.
