The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), through the Institute of Fish Resources (IFR-Varna), is pleased to host the 3rd Meeting of the LiRRIE Network in the framework of the AZA4ICE project. This event follows the successful LiRRIE meetings held in Greece and Spain, marking another important step forward in advancing responsible and innovative aquaculture practices.
The meeting will take place on 27 November at 09:30, at the Hotel Rosslyn Dimyat, Panorama Hall, in Varna, and will gather local and regional stakeholders involved in the Bulgarian pilot activities.
The programme will begin with a welcome and opening session led by Assoc. Prof. Elitsa Petrova-Pavlova (IFR-Varna), followed by the presentation of C-AZA results from the pilot testing of the AZA4ICE methodology in Bulgaria by Dr. Philip Penchev (IFR-Varna). Participants will then engage in a discussion on results and stakeholder feedback, a presentation of the AZA4ICE Common Transnational Strategy by Radinela Stefanova (IFR-Varna), and an afternoon round table focused on the Action Plan and the future of AZA in Bulgaria.
This third LiRRIE event will focus on:
-
Presentation and discussion of the C-AZA results from pilot testing of the AZA4ICE methodology and stakeholder feedback;
-
Development of an Action Plan and future roadmap for the implementation and upscaling of AZA in Bulgaria.
The event aims to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, enhance the implementation of the AZA4ICE approach, and foster shared strategies for sustainable and circular aquaculture in Bulgaria.
