The 3rd LiRRIE meeting was held in Podgorica on 15 December, hosted by the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, within the framework of the AZA4ICE project.
The event was aimed at policymakers and representatives from the aquaculture, agriculture, environmental protection and related sectors to jointly explore sustainable and circular solutions for the development of Šasko Lake (Ulcinj). Discussions focused on advancing responsible aquaculture practices through innovative planning, stakeholder engagement and circular economy principles.
The meeting featured presentations on the Montenegro C-AZA pilot results, the first draft of the AZA4ICE Action Plan, and the project’s key guiding principles, followed by a constructive exchange on priorities, challenges and long-term sustainability within the LiRRIE ecosystem.
A big thank you to all participants for their valuable contributions and commitment to shaping a more resilient and sustainable aquaculture sector in Montenegro.
