The 3rd AZA4ICE Project Meeting took place in the city of Varna, Bulgaria, from 12 to 14 November 2024, gathering all project partners to advance our mission of fostering sustainable and circular aquaculture practices.
Over the course of three days, partners engaged in in-depth discussions about the project’s progress, including updates on pilot site activities and detailed planning for the next steps. This meeting marked another significant milestone in our collaborative efforts to create impactful outcomes for the aquaculture sector.
🐟 Field Trip: Exploring Sustainable Aquaculture in Varna
A highlight of the meeting was the insightful field trip organized by the Institute of Fish Resources – Varna. Partners visited a local aquaculture farm, where they gained firsthand knowledge about the region’s cultivated species, sustainable farming techniques, and the challenges faced by local farmers.
The visit underscored the importance of implementing innovative practices like those championed by AZA4ICE, showcasing how sustainable aquaculture can support both environmental conservation and economic growth.
