What we do
AZA4ICE identifies and manages suitable areas for circular aquaculture, reducing administrative burdens and conflicts with other users. We implement an innovative ecosystem aquaculture spatial planning approach, embedded with circular practices, the Allocated Zones for Circular Aquaculture (C-AZA) specifically targeting close-to-coast and inland waters. Additionally, we create new methodologies for stakeholder engagement, ensuring that all voices are heard and that strategies for aquaculture development are co-created and co-decided, promoting a shared vision for the future. By engaging stakeholders in the AZA4ICE collaborative process, the Living Responsible Research and Innovation Ecosystems (LiRRIEs), we develop Action Plans that support sustainable aquaculture and foster economic growth in long term preserving environment and improving quality of life.
