🌊 AZA4ICE at Aquaculture Europe 2025!
From 22–25 September 2025, Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA) proudly represented the AZA4ICE Project at Aquaculture Europe 2025 (EAS) in Valencia, Spain — one of the leading international events gathering experts, researchers, and innovators shaping the future of aquaculture.
Sandra Joaquim presented her poster “Suspended Culture of Cockles (Cerastoderma edule) in Earthen Ponds under hashtagIMTA”, showcasing IPMA’s pioneering work in developing innovative and sustainable aquaculture practices in the Ria Formosa.
This research demonstrates how Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) systems can enhance productivity while preserving ecosystem balance — a perfect example of how AZA4ICE promotes eco-friendly aquaculture and supports the transition toward a circular and sustainable blue economy. 🌍✨
